About the album
Stadium Arcadium is the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ ninth studio album and their first double album. It gives “Dani California,” “Tell Me Baby,” and “Snow ((Hey Oh))” room to sit beside quieter songs rather than letting the singles define the whole record. Rick Rubin produced the album after John Frusciante’s return, and the guitarist supplies both melodic lift and dense rhythmic detail. Flea, Chad Smith, and Anthony Kiedis keep the familiar band center intact while the longer format allows more changes in temperature. Warner Bros. released the twenty-eight-track set in 2006. The two-disc division into Jupiter and Mars is part of the physical edition and helps a long sequence remain legible.
