About the album
blink-182 is the band’s fifth studio album and a turn toward darker, more patient arrangements. “Feeling This,” “I Miss You,” and “Down” retain the melodic directness of the earlier records, but layered vocals, acoustic color, and changing tempos give the songs more room. Jerry Finn produced the sessions while Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, and Travis Barker were working through personal and creative strain. The album’s untitled presentation is part of its argument: the band name is the cover statement. Geffen issued the fifteen-track album in 2003, with later physical editions carrying different release identities. It is a record about expansion that still knows the value of a compact chorus.
